High above Bern the Rosengarten is a beautiful place to relax. Some people might come for the four hundred types of roses planted there, others to sit in the sun or to play. The best of course is the amazing view on the old city center and the slope of the river Aare.
It is really worth taking the steep ascent (starting next to the BärenPark) up the hill. On your way you can take a picture with Albert Einstein sitting on a bench and within the Rosengarten you’ll also find a restaurant serving food and drinks. The garden as we know it today exists since 1913 and the area had a different purpose before: since 1765 it served as a cemetery.
