Bryan Danielson “Dream Match” Official For AEW WrestleDream PPV

Bryan Danielson will get to have a dream match at AEW’s WrestleDream PPV, which just so happens to take place in his home state.

Following his successful return to the ring (after missing over two months with a broken arm) at AEW All Out in a terrific Strap Match victory over Ricky Starks, Bryan Danielson is looking ahead to figure out what’s next for him.

On AEW Collision in Cleveland, Bryan Danielson spoke about how he is going into his “last year” as a full-time wrestler while also talking about his daughter Birdie. During his promo on Collision, Bryan also named the man he wanted to face at the WrestleDream PPV on October 1st in Seattle.

“What’s next? So, I told my daughter that once she turns seven, I would start finishing up on my career. And she’s six right now. And I’m a man who keeps my promises, especially to the people I love. Time is running out.”

“But that said, I will not go gently into that good night. If you think I will, you don’t know who the hell I am. I am going to fight the cyclops. I am going to kick everybody’s head in! Because if this is my last year, if this is my final year, this will be the most epic year of my career.

“And guess what? I’m calling my shots. And my next shot is this. Seattle, Washington, Wrestledream, I want to fight Zack Sabre, Jr.”

After that promo from Bryan Danielson, AEW CEO, GM & Head of Creative Tony Khan announced that the Danielson match against Sabre Jr. is set up for the WrestleDream PPV on October 1st. It was called a “Dream Match” by Tony Khan.

Zack Sabre Jr. is currently under contract to New Japan Pro Wrestling and is the NJPW World TV Champion.

Later in the promo, Ricky Starks and Big Bill arrived. Starks deemed himself the face of AEW of Collision. This would lead to a fight between Danielson against Starks & Bill, but Jon Moxley arrived to try to help his Blackpool Combat Club teammate Danielson. Unfortunately for the BCC, they were overmatched because Danielson choked out Danielson while Bill overpowered Moxley to put an end to that segment.

Bryan Danielson already won a dream match this year

That Danielson match with Sabre at WretleDream is a dream match for a lot of people due to their incredible skill as technical wrestlers.

In the main event of June’s AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view, Bryan Danielson headlined the show with Kazuchika Okada in another dream match. The match between the former WWE Champion Danielson and the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Okada saw Danielson break his arm with about ten minutes left. Somehow, Bryan was able to continue and finished off Okada to pick up the big win.

At this point, the Danielson/Sabre match is the first match that’s official for the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 1st.
