AEW President Tony Khan has now shared an update on Bryan Danielson, who is currently out of action after suffering an injury.
Danielson notably suffered a broken arm during his dream match with Kazuchika Okada at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door in June.
While his wife Brie Garcia previously indicated that his injury was worse than initially thought, Danielson later revealed that he had surgery in early July, and that he was on the road to recovery.
Speaking with Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Khan addressed the absences of both Danielson and Jamie Hayter.
Noting that Danielson will be back in a matter of months, before the end of 2023, Khan said:
“There is a little more clarity as to when Bryan Danielson will be back from his injury. I’m very excited to get Bryan back.
“I don’t want to put a timetable because it’s a challenging injury and a tough recovery, but I’m very confident Bryan will be back later this year.
“I’m still not sure when Jamie Hayter will be cleared. She doesn’t know and we don’t know, but hopefully sooner rather than later. Bryan, I’m very confident you’ll see in a matter of months.”
Danielson’s injury caused him to miss the Blackpool Combat Club vs Elite Blood & Guts match on July 19, which The Elite ultimately won.
The Elite have now all agreed to renew their contracts with AEW, which you can read more about right here.
