SANDRO OF AMERICA

Roberto is a young man who lives with his family in a very humble home. His mother is sick, and his father works hard to sustain and support the family. He doesn't like going to school and must work to help at home. He is seductive, rebellious and dreams of being like his idol, Elvis Presley.

Roberto takes his first steps as an artist in the band “Los de Fuego”. He plays in neighborhood clubs. He becomes - by accident- the voice of the band and captivates the audience with his style. Oscar Anderle, a manager, notices him and sets out to make him a star.

Roberto must make a difficult decision: continue in the band with his friends or start a solo career, as requested by his manager. Sandro deploys talent and seductiveness in a musical contest. At Viña del Mar Festival in Chile he starts feeling the affection from all Latin American audience.

Sandro introduces Daniela to her parents. Nina, her mother, is against it. His father's health worsens, and Sandro must accompany him, neglecting his career. Anderle works incessantly to try to make Sandro fulfill his dream: to sing in the mythical Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Sandro phenomenon won´t stop. His American tour is a total success. His fans rave and Mexico´s audience is captivated by his performances, where he wins his first Gold Record. But Sandro's fame comes at a high personal cost for Roberto.

Already established as a star, Sandro feels empty and is looking for a change. Rock seems the only way. He faces the ambitious project of his debut rock feature together with an old friend of questionable reputation. Sandro seems to lose everything. Meanwhile, he meets the explosive Reyna Ross, who makes him feel alive again.

Sandro feels alone, defeated, and returns to his origins to reinvent himself. The love and happiness that he feels for Reyna gives him a renewed splendor to boost his projects. Nina, her mother, gets in the way of the relationship. His manager Anderle does everything he can to avoid him going broke.

Escaping from his ghosts, Sandro goes to live in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he stars in the telenovela “Fue sin querer”. He feels saved from the sorrows that love has left him. Oscar Anderle has been urgently admitted with an irreversible diagnosis and Sandro will have to make a decision.

It´s Roberto´s birthday and his fans, “The Sandro's girls”, show up to celebrate. Mónica has become cold-hearted, and Sandro feels that his house no longer belongs to him. The situation becomes unsustainable. His new manager, Aldo Aresi, tries to give his career a new push but Sandro is not the person who used to be. Roberto suffers a new setback in his life.

Roberto has nightmares, he dreams of his parents and the past tortures him. He lives in isolation at home, composes among the disorder that surrounds him, and his cigarette addiction becomes worse. His career and his life are in danger. Olga Garaventa, a new assistant, is hired to help him, and she will become an important person for Roberto.

Sandro's life has drastically changed. He lives with Olga -with who he is in love with- and she takes good care of him. His health is very fragile, but his dreams are intact, and he wants to say goodbye to his audience on stage. He summons the band and rehearsals begin. Olga is afraid for his health, but trusts Sandro and the doctors. Sandro doubts if the audience will join him or not.

Due to health reasons, he retires from his shows. He intends to enjoy life, bringing forgotten passions back. Sandro formally asks Olga to marry him. Aware of his advanced illness, he just wants to fulfill his last wish: to go out in a blaze of glory.
