Bryan Danielson Out Until 2024 With Broken Orbital Bone

Bryan Danielson suffered an apparent injury during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, and will be sidelined until next year.

In an announcement tonight on AEW Collision, Claudio Castagnoli said that Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone. As a result, Danielson would be out of action for the foreseeable future. The injury seems to have come on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Danielson took an Orange Punch from Orange Cassidy and then a Rainmaker from Kazuchika Okada.

Bryan Danielson was holding his face at the end of the match. He was attended to by an AEW official as the episode of Dynamite ended. According to Tony Schiavone (who was on commentary for Collision), Danielson will require surgery. This would keep him out for the rest of the year as a result.

Update: PWInsider.com reports that AEW sources have confirmed that Bryan Danielson’s injury is not part of a storyline.

Pistol squats

Fuego Del Sol shared a funny story involving The American Dragon on his YouTube channel.

“We have none other than the G.O.A.T for my money, the best wrestler in the world to this day, Bryan Danielson. See, here’s a good story about Bryan… The more he’s in AEW, the more stories come out about the jokester this man is. He’s constantly trying to crack jokes, some people call him a bully. I wouldn’t go that far. He likes to keep the locker room interesting,” he said.

Fuego recalled a story where Danielson and PAC were having a Pistol Squat competition.

“Out of nowhere, I walk into the hallway, him and PAC are both in the Pistol Squat position and he asked me who has the better Pistol Squat and I couldn’t lie. I said it was PAC. And he proceeded to throw something at my crotch and it hurt very bad. But it’s just one of the hilarious stories from Bryan Danielson,” he said.
