This tube-based, vintage RCA console stereo has a gorgeous cherry cabinet. Its speakers have curved frames and geometric-patterned grill fabric. The tube amplifier provides spectacular, warm and punchy sound.

This stereo has been fully serviced and comes with a 60-day warranty on its electronics. It includes an AM/FM radio, vinyl record player, and an aux input that can be used to attach a Bluetooth receiver or other external device. Records can be stacked on the turntable's record changer.

Fully Serviced

This stereo has been professionally serviced by a technician with more than 40 years of experience.

All components are tested and replaced as needed: The tuner and amp have all the active capacitors replaced with new, modern, long-lasting ones. All resistors and other components are checked for proper specs and replaced as needed. The turntable is completely disassembled, cleaned, degreased, relubed, and recalibrated for proper operation. A new rubber drive wheel is installed, along with a new cartridge and diamond needle. All controls are cleaned for static-free operation. The radio dial is calibrated and tuned for accuracy. The speakers are checked and replaced, if needed.

Needless to say, the servicing process is thorough and time consuming, but it is well worth the effort once you hear these amazing units play. Little plastic speakera can never compare to the full, warm sound of a record playing through a large wooden cabinet! Stack some vinyl and throw a party!

Please remember that these are 50+ year old units with complex electrical and mechanical components. They should be treated with care. We recommend that you read the instructions and become familiar with your unit. Vintage stereos may have some idiosyncrasies that seem unusual when compared to plug-and-play digital devices, but that is part of their unique charm.

60-day Warranty

We offer a 60-day warranty on the electronic and mechanical components. This gives the stereo time to get settled and see use in its new home. Our service warranty only applies to buyers in nearby areas to which we personally deliver.

Due to the sensitive nature of vintage electronics, they may not travel well across several states. We have had reasonably good luck with shipping in the past, but if you are not a local customer, we cannot make any guarantee of functionality when the stereo arrives at your home. We are happy to troubleshoot over the phone and walk you through simple steps to address some of the most common issues.

Restoration Included

The price above includes supplies, inspection, repairs, sanitizing, and wood finishing to the original finish color. Our experienced, full time workshop crew uses traditional techniques and proper materials for vintage MCM furniture. To balance costs, they spend the most time finishing areas that are most visible and less time on less visible areas. We do not erase the entire history of a piece, but we make sure that it is fully functional, completely stable, and presents beautifully in an everyday setting.

Payments & Returns

Half-down reserves a piece and adds it to our workshop's queue. When it is finished, we'll send photos and bill for the remaining balance. We don't charge sales tax outside of Ohio.

If your needs change while your piece is waiting to go into the workshop, your deposit can be freely applied as a deposit on a different piece without losing your place in the queue. Due to the transaction costs that we incur, all monetary refunds have a restocking fee.

Shipping

We arrange shipping to destinations in the continential USA. We offer free delivery to Northeast Ohio and $99 flat rate delivery to Detroit, Pittsburgh, and the rest of Ohio. The cost of shipping to other locations in the continential USA is based on size and distance.

We use small, hand-delivery companies that are experienced with antique furniture. Depending on your location and their schedule, your piece may take several weeks to reach you. If you live in a distant corner of the country, it can take time to find a shipper that is headed your way.

Free local pick-up is also available. We are happy to work with transport services that you hire, including those that ship internationally. We work with a local crating company that can prepare your shipment for travel.

Common Questions

Is this item available?
Our online inventory is current and updated within a few hours of in-store sales.

Can I have a discount?
To keep our everyday prices reasonable, we only run sales a few times throughout the year. They are timed to encourage purchases during slow seasons and offer modest discounts. Unless you see a sale promoted on our website, social media, or email newsletter, discounts are not available.

Our finished prices are often similar to the unfinished prices of other online sellers. We believe in providing fair prices that allow us to maintain the quality of our pieces and reward the talents of those who work on them.

Can I buy this item in as-is condition?
Servicing has already been completed on all of our stereos, so they are not eligible for our as-is discount.

How can I reduce the lead time?
Our workshop crew finishes projects in the order that they are received. We try to make accurate estimates of our current lead time, though it can vary under unusual circumstances. We do not offer rush services.

If you need the piece in your home right away, we offer the option for you to take it home while your project is waiting in the workshop queue. You can use the piece and then bring it back when it is ready to go into the workshop. In most cases, you will only be without it for a couple weeks. This option requires payment of the full item price in advance. Due to shipping costs, this option is primarily used by local customers.

Have the speakers been replaced?
In most cases, these vintage stereos' original speakers were made with paper, not foam. As a result, they do not face the same kind of deterioration that you see on older foam speakers. If a speaker is damaged, we replace it with another one that has the same specifications.

Is this a tube unit or solid state?
We sell both tube and solid state units. Tube units were made earlier, in the 1950s and early 1960s. By the mid-1960s, most consoles were solid state. Whenever a unit has a tube amp, we mention it in the description. Otherwise, it is a solid state unit.

Can I pick the wood finish of my piece?
The price includes finishing to the original color of the piece. We can sometimes apply minor adjustments, such as making the finish slightly cooler, warmer, or more neutral in tone. If you would like the wood finish to be lighter, significantly darker, or match other pieces in your room, there will be an extra charge. If you want a lighter piece, your best bet is to pick a piece that is already light in tone.

To preserve the value and integrity of the furniture, if a piece is by a known designer or part of a popular collection, we will only finish it in a color that it was originally offered.
