We all know that Rachel McAdams is set to play Christine Palmer in Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange, and we also know that Palmer's alter ego is the Night Nurse.

So, Rachel McAdams is playing the Night Nurse, right? Well, no actually...

According to Entertainment Weekly, president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige says that there are no plans for Rachel's turn as Christine Palmer to be anything but just that.

Rumour had it that the Daredevil TV series had to rename its incarnation of the superhero healer to Christine Temple, as Marvel had plans for Palmer as the Night Nurse "down the road".

Alas, it seems we've not reached that road yet, with Feige admitting: "I will say that that storyline does not play into the movie."

Will it happen in the future, though? We're none the wiser. "It's just as much fun for us as it is for the fans to speculate about that," he added.

As well as now knowing that McAdams's Palmer will not be Night Nurse, we also know that she is the ex of Dr Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), as previews revealed earlier this week.

Also starring Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong, the MCU's next instalment will be released on October 28 in the UK, and in the US on November 4.
