Britney Spears spilled some piping hot early 2000s-coded tea earlier this week. On Wednesday, the pop star shared a black-and-white throwback photo with Ben Affleck and Diane Warren in a since-deleted Instagram post. In the process of sharing the TBT of the unexpected trio, Spears also dropped a major bombshell that has shocked early aughts pop culture aficionados everywhere: she once made out with Affleck.

“Cool pic of me and Ben Affleck and Diane Warren years ago!!!” she wrote alongside the photo, obtained by Page Six, that captured Affleck, Spears, and Warren with their arms around each other. The publication reports that the snap was taken in 1999. “He’s such an amazing actor. Did I fail to mention I made out with Ben that night … I honestly forgot … damn that’s crazy!!!”

The singer and author went on to tease more undisclosed drama from the evening that led to the smooch, but she remained tight-lipped about the details. “Wish I could tell you guys the story that happened before that !!! Oh dear, I’m just being a gossip girl 🤓😏 !!! Psss, I actually forgot 😏😉😂😂😂 !!”

The duo have managed to keep their kiss on the down-low despite having otherwise high-profile relationships. Spears went on to famously date Justin Timberlake from 1999 to 2002. Spears was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, and the former couple has two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, together. She married again in 2022, this time to Sam Asghari, but the two split last year.

Affleck met his now-wife Jennifer Lopez in 2001 on the set of their movie Gigli and got engaged in 2002 before calling it quits in 2004. Of course, the two reconnected in 2021, and the rest is history. They officially tied the knot in 2022, more than 20 years after they first met.
