Beauty queen Carrie Prejean is about to add a veil to her crown. The ex-Miss California will marry NFL quarterback Kyle Boller on Friday at The Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego, TMZ.com reports.

The 23-year-old San Diegan’s nuptials come more than a year after she commented on gay marriage at the 2009 Miss USA pageant.

In response to pageant judge Perez Hilton’s question about same-sex marriage laws in the United States, she said, “I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

In June of the same year, Donald Trump, the owner of the Miss USA competition, stripped Prejean of her Miss California crown citing “continued breach of contract issues.”

Prejean sued pageant officials for religious discrimination, but withdrew the lawsuit in November when a sex tape surfaced.
